Top Ten Tuesday: Characters Who I Would Totally Want To Be For Halloween

Today, I thought I'd try something new and linkup with The Broke and the Bookish for Top Ten Tuesday.  Each week there's a new book related topic.  I think this linkup will be a fun way to share some of my favorite books while sharing more about myself with you all.  Also, I'm looking forward to getting some awesome book recommendations from everyone else who links up each week.

This week's topic is Top Ten Characters Who I Would Totally Want To Be For Halloween.  So, let's jump right into this.

1. Fancy Nancy

Fancy Nancy wasn't even on my radar until I had my daughter.  Almost six years later, we've read pretty much every Fancy Nancy or Nancy Clancy book author Jane O'Connor has written.  So, why do I want to be a children's book character?  Well, I love fashion and so does Nancy.  She's always stylishly dressed and a unique style that is hard to miss and she has bright red hair.  Plus, when else will I get to wear a tutu?

2. Carrie Bradshaw

If you've seen Sex & the City, then I'm sure I don't need to explain any further.  Again Carrie's always on point with the fashion, especially when it comes to shoe game.  I think she must have owned every pair of Manolo Blahniks ever made.  Plua, Carrie was a writer as well!

3. Anastasia Steele

Of course, I want to be Ana Steele after she met Christian and he revamp her wardrobe.  I know that when Fifty Shades first reached popularity it got a lot of mixed reviews.  However, I was one of the readers who loved James' work. Is it Shakespeare?  No, but Ana and Christian still have one of the most epic lovestory I've read in a while.  Also, I felt a connection to both characters because of things we had in common and that is what I think drew so many people to reading and loving this story.

4. Griet

Girl With a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier was probably the second historical fiction I read.  In my mind, I pictured Griet to be the Mona Lisa of her village.  The summer I read this book I was in junior high school and I fell in love with it.  I must have reread it a million times and eventually wore the cover off.

5. Bella Swan

No, I'm not afraid to admit that I was and still am a fan of the Twilight series.  And while Bella Swan was not known for her fashion sense, who hasn't dreamed of being her in real life and having our own real life Edward Cullen to woo us off our feet?

6. A Who

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is one of my all time favorite Christmas stories.  It's funny, but has a lesson to be learned.  The Whos were too adorable with their rounded noses and quirky hairstyles.  This would be a fun costume to say the least.

7. The Cat in the Hat

I've been dying for an excuse to wear that iconic red and white top hat for years now.  Now, if only I could find one that came with a real life Thing 1 and Thing 2.  Hmmm. . . .  This costume would be fun and I haven't had my face painted in years.  It'd be nice to feel like a kid again.

8. Hermione Granger

Give me a wand, a plaid skirt, sweater vest and a cap.  My love for the entire Harry Potter series knows no bounds.  I am so thankful that J. K. Rowling created this series.  There's magic, teenage romance, drama and adventure.  I saw a lot of myself in Hermione, especially the times she was made fun of for being different (muggle born) or too smart.

9. Amelia Bedelia

,

I'm 99.9% sure that I've read ever Amelia Bedelia book Peggy Parish has ever written.  I've even started reading these books to my children so that they can come love Amelia Bedelia as much as I do.  Amelia Bedelia's maid outfit is just as iconic and memorable as she is.  Plus, it would be nice to carry around a feather duster just for fun for once.

10. Karissa McKinley

So, I'm kind of cheating a little bit with this one, because Karissa McKinley is actually one of the main characters from my upcoming novel, Forever Branded.  Sure, it might be a little cheesy dressing up as a character that I created, but I like when life imitates art in a way.  For me it would be totally cool to play one of my characters even if it's only for one night.  After who knows them better than I do?

Until next time,
K
