It's final starting to hit me that the holidays are literally right around the corner.  We're only 6 weeks out from Thanksgiving.  I haven't even started on our menu.  I'm looking forward to the end of the month though because we always put our Christmas tree up on November 1st.  I know it's early for some, but I really like to enjoy my Christmas decorations and bring my Christmas presents out of the closets to finally nestle around the tree.  Anyways, I hope that everyone had a great week this week.

Currently I'm . . .

Cooking |  Now the temperature is dropping it's officially chili season.  This week I've started experimenting with a new vegetable, turkey chili recipe.  I need to work out the seasoning blend before I share the recipe though.  My daughter said that it was my best batch yet.  So, I'll that as a sign that I'm getting closer to perfecting it.

Thinking |  My kids want a non-traditional dish for Thanksgiving but I'm thinking that maybe we should do an entire non-traditional meal for Christmas instead.  I would love to try some dished with Middle Eastern flavors and to skip the Christmas turkey.  We'll see.

Starting |  NaNoWriMo is almost here.  And since I missed the NaNo camps earlier this year, I definitely want to "win" NaNoWriMo this November.  I've started my prep and I have a rough idea of what I want to write.  I'm thinking that instead of being a pantser this year I'm going to plan/plot out as much of my novel beforehand as I can.

Looking |  Speaking of NaNoWriMo, I'm on the lookout for a new writing buddy.  My main buddy from last year is currently busy with taking a film/script writing class and she won't have the time to invest in NaNoWriMo this year.  And my secondary writing buddies from last year ended up quitting before the contest was over and we didn't gel well.

Ideally, I'd love to find someone who's good at plotting, holding others accountable, available to chat daily, trustworthy (can't have someone stealing my story plot) and passionate about writing as well as being a good critique partner.  I'm going to put out the bat signal in the NaNo forum and on Twitter to see what happens.

Wanting |  I love boots!  I have one pair but I'm wanting to add a few more to my collection.  A pair of suede knee high bots with a chunky heel would be great right about now.  Boots are the ultimate fall (and winter) shoe.  They're very versatile and can be worn with pretty much everything from dresses to pants and even shorts or a wedding dress!

Let's chat in the comments.  What have y'all been up to this week?
