Friday, is it you?  It's been a long week y'all.  So long that it has me wishing I kept a stash of wine stocked somewhere in the back of my closet, but I don't.  Unfortunately, alcoholism runs in my family.  Therefore, I enjoy alcohol in social settings or once a month for personal enjoyment.  Never to self-medicate or numb my emotions, etc.

That being said, the holidays are coming up.  So, I will be partaking in some wine sipping at family dinners.  Leave me some suggestions for yummy white wines and any sweet red wines that you may have.  Anyways, here's to hoping things start to look up over the weekend.

Currently . . .

Glad |  We started and survived our first week of our new virtual homeschool academic year.  My son was excited to start back and kept asking when we were starting.  I'm so glad that he's eager to learn.  This is a 360 from the beginning of last year's school year.  Honestly, I think he's just become more confident in his skills and ability to learn and retain information.

Now my daughter on the other hand is already over school.  She was not thrilled to start school this year.  I can't say that I blame her.  Our Summer Break wasn't the most exciting or fun.  This definitely won't be the case for next Summer Break.  Mama is planning ahead.

Vlogging |  I'm vlogging/making YouTube video again!  I decided to blow the dust off my channel and uploaded my weekend vlog.  Let me just say that I had no clue how hard vlogging on-the-go/day in the life style was.  I'm so used to filming sit down vidoes and they're never more than an hour long unedited.

And don't get me started on how much more time it takes to edit hours of footage compared to less than 60 minutes worth of footage.  It took me FOREVER!!  When all is said and done, I'm proud of how my first day in the life vlog turned out.  I definitely learned a lot from this experience and look forward to improving.

Going | This weekend we're going to a back to school bash!  There should be lots of games to keep the kids occupied and having fun.  Hopefully, they'll make some new friends because it's been challenging to find other homeschooling families in our area.

Thinking |  I've been wanting to host a readathon for a minute now.  Even though I've thrown my hat in the ring to co-host a few, I was never selected for any of the spots.  So I'm creating my own.  It's going to take place during the Fall and be Fall themed.

While I have the reading challenges pretty much nailed down.  I'm still trying to think up a cool and catchy name for my readathon.  Hopefully something will come to me soon because Fall will be here next month.

Enjoying |  I finally took the plunge and started the To All The Boys I've Loved Before series by Jenny Han.  I finished the first book and really enjoyed it.  Also, I watched the Netflix adaptation for it and liked it as well.  I wish they would have put in the scene of when Lara Jean goes to celebrate the New Year with her Korean side of the family because it would have been a little nice to see that part of her culture acknowleged.

I'm also reading Dread Nation by Justina Ireland and enjoying Iron Fist.  I know I'm so behind on watching Iron Fist, but I couldn't get into it when it first came out.  So better late than never, right?

Whelp, that's all I have for this week.  Wish me luck as I do my second weekend vlog!  I'm hoping that I won't forget to close it out and actually get some reading footage.  Enjoy the weekend y'all!

    1. A readathon is pretty much a themed reading challenge where you pick books that match them or mini challenges categories. Thanks for the follows!
