Happy Friday!  Am I the only one who feels like this has been the longest week ever?  There's so much negative stuff happening back to back.  It's not only overwhelming, but draining as well.  Next week I'm avoiding the news at all costs and cutting back on my time on social media.  Moving on, I'm excited to be starting a new series here where I can talk about all of the things that I'm currently enjoying or not enjoying.

Currently I'm . . .

Reading | I'm finally getting around to finishing Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas.  I started it in May, but then we closed on our house and had to pack up our apartment.  And because we were moving to a new town, I had to return all of my library books.  😭😭  Anyways, I'm almost finished and loving it so far.  Although, I still have to read Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storms, I picked up Tower of Dawn earlier this week.

Dreading |  While I'm over the moon that Autumn is officially here, I'm dreading the start of cold and flu season.  My son woke up with his first cold of the season on Monday.  Now that it seems like his cold finally moving along, I'm going to be going into full-on disinfect mode this weekend.  I did a little disinfecting here and there, but it felt pointless with him coming back behind me sneezing germs back all over everything.

Shopping |  Our new house is a bit of a fixer upper.  It was on the market for over five years before we purchased it.  The sellers fixed it up so that it was livable but now we need to make it more functional for our family.  So I put together a list of improvements and renovations we need to make and went to see what inspiration and finds I could get from one of my favorite home stores- IKEA.

Am I the only who can stay in that store all day?!  I ended up getting a look at the kitchen layout I want and we had a quick lunch.

Making |  Speaking of remodeling, my son is obsessed with Thomas & Friends.  So, he requested that his room be train themed.  Of course, he also requested that I crochet him a blanket for his bed.  I couldn't say no and drafted up a design and now I'm almost done with the first of five panels.  I can't wait this labor of love is finished.

My daughter has requested a unicorn theme for her room and a custom design blanket as well.  I haven't been able to come up with a design yet for the unicorn panels of her blanket, but I do have a good idea on how to I want her name to look and the colors I'll use.

Watching |  We got to screen My Little Pony The Movie last Saturday.  The movie was so cute and full of great lessons for both kids and adults.  I'll have a full review coming up on soon, but it's already in theaters.  So if you have kids or still like MLP, I recommend that you go see it.

I hope you guys have a great weekend!  Here's to next week being more positive.  Let me know in the comments what you guys have been up to this week!

  1. Seriously I've reached a point where I almost don't even want to know what's going on in the world anymore. But anyway, that sounds exciting that you just moved! You get to start fresh and make your new house all pretty :-) I'm not looking forward to cold and flu season either though.

If you drink get an extra bottle of wine at the market!) WOW on the crochet! I never learned how to do any of those neat things and sometimes I regret it. Wishing you a wonderful, restful Sunday and a good week ahead! xo
